About The Position

This is an intern position for the LSUE Women's Basketball team. The role involves providing training, discipline, and coaching to student-athletes to build a competitive program. The assistant coach will also serve as a mentor, monitor academic performance, assist with team organization and recruitment, promote the team and athletics within the community, maintain the basketball facility, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to work significant evening, night, and weekend hours with travel.
Subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with LSUE Policy Statement 41.

Responsibilities

Providing appropriate training, discipline, and coaching for student-athletes that leads to a highly competitive women's basketball program.
Serving as a mentor to student-athletes helping them develop academically, physically, and socially.
Monitoring student-athletes in their academic performance to ensure timely progress towards degree completion and graduation.
Assist Head Coach with organization of practices, recruitment, and team travel.
Working with the University and local community to help promote and publicize the team and LSUE Athletics.
Attending departmental staff meetings and special events of both the Athletic Department and the University.
Maintaining the basketball facility.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Head Basketball Coach.
