About The Position

This position involves providing training, discipline, and coaching to student-athletes to foster a highly competitive women's basketball program. The role includes mentoring student-athletes in their academic, physical, and social development, and monitoring their academic progress to ensure timely degree completion and graduation. The assistant coach will also assist the Head Coach with practice organization, recruitment, and team travel. Additionally, this role supports the promotion and publicity of the team and LSUE Athletics within the university and local community, and involves attending departmental meetings and events. Maintenance of the basketball facility is also a responsibility, along with other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Basketball Coach.

Requirements

Ability to work significant evening, night, and weekend hours with travel.
Subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with LSUE Policy Statement 41.

Responsibilities

Providing appropriate training, discipline, and coaching for student-athletes that leads to a highly competitive women's basketball program.
Serving as a mentor to student-athletes helping them develop academically, physically, and socially.
Monitoring student-athletes in their academic performance to ensure timely progress towards degree completion and graduation.
Assist Head Coach with organization of practices, recruitment, and team travel
Working with the University and local community to help promote and publicize the team and LSUE Athletics.
Attending departmental staff meetings and special events of both the Athletic Department and the University.
Maintaining the basketball facility.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Head Basketball Coach.
