This position assists with all aspects of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Program. Responsibilities include student recruitment and development, on-court coaching, ensuring compliance with NCAA, Conference, and University of Hawaii rules and regulations, and supporting student-athlete academic achievement. The role also involves teaching basketball skills, promoting positive team conduct and sportsmanship, and prioritizing the physical, mental, social, and academic well-being of student-athletes. The coach will assist in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting qualified prospects, working collaboratively with various university departments to process them, and making contacts through telephone, correspondence, and off-campus visits. Additionally, the position supports the academic progress of student-athletes, participates in sports clinics and camps, and actively engages in fundraising, promotional, and public relations activities. The role also includes performing duties as a Campus Security Authority and maintaining collaborative relationships with administrators, coaches, and external stakeholders. Confidentiality and adherence to all governing laws, policies, and regulations are paramount. Immediate reporting of potential violations to the Director of Athletics or designee is required.
