About The Position

Penn State Altoona is currently accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Baseball Coach. This role reports to the head coach and is responsible for assisting in the management of all aspects of the baseball program, with a specific emphasis on working with the pitchers. The position is part of a competitive NCAA Division III baseball program.

Requirements

• Required travel during the spring will include all away games, and the yearly spring trip to Florida during the time frame of March 7 to March 15, or equivalent dates of Penn State’s spring break.
• Must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy.
• May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Must be well versed in the sport.
• 1-2 years of previous coaching experience.
• PA State Police Criminal Background Check.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form.
• Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the management of all aspects of the baseball program.
• Working with the pitchers.
• Serving as an assistant coach in a competitive NCAA Division III baseball program.
• Assisting in coaching the pitching staff.
• Recruiting.
• Organizing and planning practices and game strategies.
• Throwing batting practice.
• Hitting fungos.
• Performing other daily practice activities.
