About The Position

The Assistant Baseball Coach will assist the Head Baseball Coach in the planning, development, and daily operations of the NCAA Division III Baseball program. This role involves recruiting academically qualified and talented student-athletes, supporting practice and game preparation, and coaching during competitions. The position also focuses on developing student-athlete skill development programs, mentoring student-athletes in their academic, personal, and leadership growth, and ensuring compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules. The Assistant Baseball Coach will collaborate with athletics staff to create an exceptional student-athlete experience grounded in integrity, respect, and excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • NCAA Coaches Certification, or ability to pass certification test
  • AED/CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Baseball Coach with the planning, development, and daily operations of the NCAA Division III Baseball program.
  • Recruit academically qualified and talented student-athletes who will contribute to the success of the program both on and off the field.
  • Support the planning and supervision of practices, game preparation, and coaching responsibilities during competition.
  • Develop and implement student-athlete skill development programs that promote athletic growth and performance.
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to student-athletes, fostering their academic, personal, and leadership development.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and commitment to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with athletics staff to deliver an exceptional student-athlete experience centered on integrity, respect, and excellence.
  • Build relationships with players to provide mentorship, guidance, and support both on and off the field/court.
  • Coach and instruct student athletes during practices and on game day in how to perform their sport such as proper skills and instruction of fundamentals, physical health, team concepts, and safety.
  • Support the overall physical conditioning needs of student-athletes in conjunction with the head coach and strength & conditioning staff.
  • Conduct player evaluations and develop plans to enhance the student-athlete experience.
  • Seek out, apply, and share knowledge of sport trends and innovations in playing and teaching.
  • Assist with practice planning, workouts, scouting, film breakdown, and game management.
  • Collaborate with the head coach to devise game plans and strategies for upcoming opponents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
