About The Position

The Department of Athletics at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for the Men’s Assistant Baseball Coach position with an appointment to begin Summer 2026. This position is housed in the Athletics Department under the President's Office. The classification for the position is Coach, 12-month, and it is in the faculty bargaining unit. This is a 12-month, full-time position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three years Division I collegiate baseball coaching experience or 4 years playing experience at the NCAA Division I level and 5 years coaching at the high school, club or non-Division I NCAA level, or equivalent
  • Proven ability to recruit highly skilled student-athletes and a demonstrated commitment to their satisfactory academic progress
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA Division I rules and regulations
  • Ability to interact successfully with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and to work harmoniously with students and colleagues
  • Demonstrated competitive on-court coaching ability and skills.

Nice To Haves

  • NCAA Division I baseball coaching experience and knowledge of various scouting and video editing software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coaching a highly competitive Baseball program which competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference
  • Assist with recruiting Division I quality student-athletes
  • Assist with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes
  • Lead, monitor, and coordinate training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained
  • Know and abide by NCAA, University, and Big West rules and regulations
  • Work in conjunction with the head coach regarding travel coordination, scheduling, and practice planning
  • Scout and conduct statistical analysis of recruits and opponents
  • Work closely with Athletics administration and staff in regards to Baseball’s program responsibilities and policy compliance
  • Take an active role in marketing Baseball on campus and within the community through public appearances, fundraising and promotional efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach
