About The Position

The Assistant Baseball Coach - Pitching at DCC will assist in coaching during athletic events, including practices and games, with a primary focus on pitchers' instruction, supervision, and scheduling. This role involves assisting in preseason and post-season training, practices, and games, and may involve working regularly with a specific group of student-athletes. The position also supports scouting and recruiting activities, ensures compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations, and collaborates with sports medicine and strength and conditioning personnel for team wellness and conditioning programs. Additionally, the coach will monitor student-athletes' adherence to conduct, appearance, and punctuality rules, assist in event management and facility maintenance, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or five years of professional/collegiate/high school baseball experience
  • Intent to work in the field in student-athlete support services and experience in the related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in coaching during athletic events, including practices and games, with primary focus on pitchers’ instruction, supervision, and schedule.
  • Assist in preseason, and post-season training, practices, and games; may be assigned to work with a specific group of student-athletes on a regular basis.
  • Assists in scouting and recruiting activities.
  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NJCAA rules and regulations and complies with the same. Assists in briefing student athletes and monitoring adherence to the above.
  • Works with Athletics sports medicine and strength and conditioning personnel and/or with third-party medical groups including but not limited to physicians as needed to implement team wellness and conditioning programs.
  • Works with student-athletes and monitors their adherence to rules and regulations concerning conduct, appearance and punctuality.
  • Assists in event management, facility maintenance and upkeep, and other baseball-related events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director.
