About The Position

The Assistant Banking Manager is responsible for assisting the Retail Banking Manager with supervising operational functions within the branch. This includes overseeing branch personnel, supervising branch operations, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. The role focuses on improving customer experience and satisfaction while developing the teller line through training and coaching staff to achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize leadership, management, and technical skills related to the operational functions of the branch.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and comply with all Banking regulations and applicable laws.
  • Serve as a role model for retail staff in delivering exceptional customer experience and focusing on building relationships.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of and promote the Bank's products and treasury management services.
  • Address client needs and resolve customer issues efficiently and in a timely manner, promoting products and services as applicable.
  • Work closely with the Retail Banking Manager to analyze customer feedback and anticipate needs.
  • Coach and develop the teller line on deposit products, treasury management services, and customer retention strategies.
  • Work closely with the Retail Banking Manager to ensure operational standards are consistent with the most current regulatory guidelines and that effective controls are implemented to mitigate risk and minimize losses to the Bank.
  • Actively participate in/conduct branch staff meetings and provide supervision, guidance, interpretation, coaching, and mentoring on matters of Bank policies, procedures, products, and services.
  • Review and evaluate branch reports, including deposit growth, new & closed accounts, dormant/inactive accounts, overdrafts, etc., to meet performance objectives.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings with the Retail Banking Manager to focus on business development, customer service, and product training.
  • Work with the Retail Banking Manager to resolve personnel problems, ensuring resolution within established procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist with, or handle, complex account questions from frontline staff, including the resolution of customer concerns or problems.
  • Perform teller functions, such as deposits, withdrawals, teller transfers, cashing checks, issuing cashier's checks, providing change orders, placing Reg CC holds, resolving teller outages, and auditing cash drawers.
