About The Position

The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Assistant Bakery Manager – West Cleveland Territory supports the Amherst, Avon, Fairview Park, Strongsville, and upcoming Parma bakeries. This role partners with Bakery Managers and District Leadership to provide exceptional guest service, develop team members, maintain brand standards, and support sales, labor, and operational goals. This is a multi-bakery position requiring regular travel between assigned locations. The Assistant Bakery Manager provides leadership coverage and support based on staffing, business volume, training needs, manager availability, and operational priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of retail, restaurant, bakery, foodservice, or guest-facing experience
  • Experience training, coaching, and directing others.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities across multiple locations.
  • Comfortable learning POS, scheduling, payroll, and other business systems.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, stoop, lift, and carry supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced bakery environment and perform production, cleaning, stocking, and order fulfillment duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational support across assigned bakeries.
  • Travel between locations to support staffing gaps, manager absences, high-volume periods, events, and other business needs.
  • Partner with Bakery Managers to build a positive, accountable, and high-performing team.
  • Coach, train, motivate, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and team development.
  • Model exceptional guest service and ensure a warm, welcoming bakery environment.
  • Maintain consistent NbC product, service, cleanliness, merchandising, and brand standards.
  • Support cake production, frosting, decorating, order fulfillment, stocking, cleaning, opening, and closing.
  • Maintain knowledge of all bakery roles and step into different positions as needed.
  • Support individual, corporate, large, and special orders for accuracy and timely completion.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, allergen, labeling, and company standards.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, attendance, payroll review, and labor management.
  • Support inventory, ordering, waste control, transfers, and expense management.
  • Monitor sales, labor, productivity, and other key metrics and communicate opportunities to leadership.
  • Support fundraisers, community events, seasonal launches, and other brand initiatives.
  • Assist with the opening and launch of the Parma bakery and other special projects.
  • Communicate effectively with Bakery Managers, District Leadership, and team members.
