About The Position
Attorneys in the Revenue Section represent the Iowa Department of Revenue before courts and administrative tribunals and provide legal advice to the agency on matters related to its operations. This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the “To Apply” section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services – Human Resources Enterprise. Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks an attorney to serve in the Revenue Section.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school of law.
- Admitted to the Iowa State Bar and appropriate federal courts at the time of appointment.
- License, or the ability to obtain a license, to practice law in Iowa.
- Exceptional skills in statutory construction, administrative law, legal writing, and providing written and oral advice to agency staff.
