Loyola Marymount University (LMU) seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer to provide treatment and prevention techniques for athletic injuries and promote safety in intercollegiate competition. This role involves assisting with the evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries, consulting with a physician and the Director of Sports Medicine, and designing and implementing rehabilitation programs for injured athletes. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will administer emergency first aid, assist in supervising the Intern Athletic Trainer Program, and prepare student-athletes for practice and competition. Additionally, the role includes providing nutritional guidance, performing administrative tasks, representing LMU within various communities, serving on committees, and providing injury updates to coaches. Compliance with NCAA, Conference, and University Rules is essential, as is effective communication with student-athletes, coaches, and administration. The ideal candidate will understand and evaluate athletic-related injuries using standard athletic trainer methods, with knowledge of physical therapy techniques, medical terminology, human physiology and anatomy, and simple card filing systems.
