About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Trainer, under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine, is responsible for the daily athletic training needs of assigned intercollegiate athletic teams as well as overall care and maintenance of the athletic training facilities. This person must provide exceptional personal care for the student-athletes and sport programs, as assigned to them, with regards to injury prevention, rehabilitation, healthy eating and living and health insurance matters. The role also involves performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field/concentration
  • A minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience as a certified athletic trainer
  • Possess state athletic training licensure, in good standing, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or eligible to pursue upon being hired
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets and relevant databases
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals from variety of disciplines
  • Work experience that demonstrates ability to work successfully with a diverse student population
  • The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Three (3) or more years of experience at the Division I collegiate level
  • Experience managing multiple sports as an athletic trainer

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily athletic training needs of assigned intercollegiate athletic teams
  • Responsible for overall care and maintenance of the athletic training facilities
  • Provide exceptional personal care for the student-athletes and sport programs with regards to injury prevention, rehabilitation, healthy eating and living and health insurance matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Complete assigned administrative duties within the sports medicine department
