About The Position

Middletown Christian Schools is looking for an Assistant Athletic Director who embraces our vision, mission, and core values. We are a ministry of Grace Baptist Church and seek to be a Christ-centered educational institution that teaches from a biblical worldview. A person who seeks this position should be one who is convinced that God has called him/her to the ministry. The Assistant Athletic Director plays a key role in advancing the mission of the school through athletics. With a heart for ministry and a commitment to excellence in education and sports, this individual will work directly under the Athletic Director to help lead and support school-wide athletic programs ensuring that athletics contribute to the holistic growth of each student. The Assistant A.D. may teach up to two classes a day. He/She must have a passion for sports and education as well as an understanding of how young athletes should best be developed.

  • BA in sports management or athletic related field.
  • At least three years’ experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and athletics.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous athletic and/or coaching experience is preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred or willing work on degree after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and serve as a primary point of contact for Elementary Athletics, communicating with families, coaches, partner leagues, and outside facilities regarding registration, rosters, schedules, and program logistics.
  • Coordinate after-school supervision and student dismissal/transition plans for elementary athletic practices and programs.
  • Hiring volunteer coaches and assist with background checks
  • Create registrations and sign-ups for elementary athletic teams through Hudl Programs.
  • Oversee and manage the Elementary Athletics budget.
  • Organize team schedules
  • Order and organize uniforms and warmups.
  • Deliver equipment to coaches (balls/cones)
  • Arrange practice locations and schedules
  • Game day set up (field prep, concessions set up, speaker set up)
  • Split games/events to site manage with Athletic Director
  • Help clean up from games the previous night
  • Manage final forms and make sure all physical forms and required documents are uploaded
  • Manage and maintain team pages, schedules, announcements, and group communication through the MCS Eagles App.
  • Maintain accurate athletic schedules and records across Event Link, DragonFly, Final Forms, Hudl, and other athletic management platforms.
  • Assist with coach recruitment and onboarding, including interview scheduling, reference checks, required certifications, and access to athletic software and platforms.
  • Assist with OHSAA, conference, and league administrative requirements, including student eligibility, coach compliance, contracts, and required deadlines.
  • Updating game and practices on school calendars
  • Sams Club/Kroger runs as needed
  • Uniform inventory and collection
  • Posting and updating website with schedules and current events/games
  • Creating gameday graphics using our graphic software Gipper
  • Help set up for college signings and end of season banquet(s)
  • Hang up senior banners and sponsorship banners
  • Assist with fundraising for the athletic programs
  • Help answer questions from people on social media
  • Helping onboard new coaches and walking through the certification process with Coaches Tool Chest and Pupil Activity Permit
  • Monitoring game day weather
  • Work with student aides for athletics
  • Communicate events to school staff/administration
  • Assist with onboarding coaches with Hudl software.
  • Organize and implement with head varsity coaches summer day clinics and camps
  • Could teach up to two classes based on experience and training.
  • Assist the Athletic Director with daily duties.
