Assists in the coordination of the athletic program in secondary schools. Supports the athletic director in providing overall leadership, communication and coordination among sports programs to provide students with positive and safe learning experiences. Assists athletic director in observing coaches, making assignments and clarifying duties, subject to principal approval. Assists in coordinating logistics, business and financial details for athletic program, including, but not limited to, scheduling interscholastic games, contracting officials, event and game management and maintaining records. Supports athletic director in maintaining a permanent file of players, medical examinations, insurance forms, records, parent consent forms and payments. Also assists in maintaining permanent record of each sport including, but not limited to, wins/losses, records, award winners. Assists in the verification of student eligibility. Supports athletic director in evaluating requests for equipment, approving appropriate orders, and maintaining an inventory. Assists athletic director with repair and maintenance of all athletic facilities, in coordination with the maintenance department. Recommends facility improvements. Assists with sports media coverage coordination and the use of audio/visual equipment during scheduled events. Promotes publicity for all interscholastic sports. Ensures compliance with national and Kentucky high school athletic associations rules and regulations. Performs other such duties as the athletic director and/or school principal may direct.
