Northeastern University•Boston, MA
•$98,000 - $129,000

About The Position

Northeastern University School of Law is hiring a full-time Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor to teach in its Legal Skills in Social Context (LSSC) program during the 2027–2028 academic year. LSSC is an 8-credit first-year course combining traditional legal research and writing instruction with a faculty-supervised social justice research project conducted in partnership with a community organization. The curriculum develops essential lawyering skills and asks students to examine law as a social construct, its effects on historically excluded populations, and the roles lawyers play in pursuing justice and equity. Students apply their skills in support of underserved communities. The School of Law emphasizes experiential legal education, public-interest service, engaged scholarship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will teach two LSSC sections. Sections may be taught on campus or in the law school’s fully remote, partially asynchronous evening FlexJD program, and FlexJD teaching is expected to be included in the teaching package. Applications are reviewed as received, and the search continues until the position is filled.
