Northeastern University School of Law is hiring a full-time Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor to teach in its Legal Skills in Social Context (LSSC) program during the 2027–2028 academic year. LSSC is an 8-credit first-year course combining traditional legal research and writing instruction with a faculty-supervised social justice research project conducted in partnership with a community organization. The course develops students’ lawyering skills while examining law as a social construct, its effects on historically excluded populations, and lawyers’ roles in advancing justice and equity. The new faculty member will teach two sections of LSSC and supervise two student social justice research projects. Sections may be taught on campus or in the law school’s fully remote, partially asynchronous evening FlexJD program; FlexJD teaching is expected to be part of the teaching assignment. The School of Law emphasizes experiential education, public-interest law, engaged scholarship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Applications are reviewed as received, and the search continues until the position is filled.
