About The Position

The School of Dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is dedicated to providing educational programs, basic and clinical research, high-quality patient care, and community outreach. The school aims to foster an environment of mutual respect and free exchange of ideas, preparing graduates in general dentistry and dental specialties to deliver compassionate and ethical oro-facial health care. Currently, the school is undergoing a dynamic growth phase and operates in a state-of-the-art facility. The appointee for this position will contribute to the university's missions and goals across teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service, under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry.

Requirements

• Dental degree (DDS/DMD) from a CODA accredited school, or advanced training in a specialty program at a CODA accredited school
• ADA accredited advanced training program in Prosthodontics
• Oregon Dental License, Unrestricted (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)
• BLS from AHA required

Nice To Haves

• Membership and participation in professional societies in dental research
• Demonstrated achievement in research including awards, extra-mural funding, and publications in peer reviewed journals
• Must be able to teach at the pre and post graduate levels
• Extensive experience in digital dentistry

Responsibilities

• Serving as an instructor in the preclinical laboratory
• Reviewing student work and providing critical assessment and aid in performing normal dental procedures
• Serving as a course director and giving lectures
• Attending lectures of fellow faculty members for courses in which the person is assigned
• Teaching in the predoctoral dental clinic and supervising students providing patient care
• Performing scholarly activities such as research (including laboratory and/or clinical studies)
• Participating on committees within the school and university as assigned
• Providing patient care
