This is a non-tenure track faculty position with the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute (CKWRI) and the Department of Rangeland and Wildlife Sciences (RWSC) in the Dick and Mary Lewis Kleberg College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK). The successful candidate will serve as the Director of the CKWRI Ocelot Conservation Facility (OCF), a new 30,000 square-foot facility focused on ex situ breeding and rearing of ocelots to augment wild populations. The Director will oversee facility establishment and operations, supervise staff, manage resources, and coordinate with collaborators. The role also involves providing veterinary guidance to other CKWRI research endeavors, including best practices in animal handling, anesthesia, testing, and interpretation of results. The position is primarily administrative (87.5%) with a negotiable research appointment and a teaching expectation of one graduate course every other year in wildlife nutrition, wildlife physiology, or a related area (12.5% teaching). The appointment is for 9 months with summer salary support from CKWRI.
