About The Position

George Fox University announces an 11-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program. Their team is seeking a full-time faculty member who is enthusiastic about educating the next generation of Occupational Therapists in the growing program. Candidates with expertise in all areas of Occupational Therapy will be considered. George Fox University and the College of Occupational Therapy invite applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor for the Entry Level Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) Program. The Occupational Therapy Program seeks an experienced faculty member who will collaborate with all stakeholders of the OTD program to ensure full accreditation. The successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the Division of Health and Behavioral Science team during the initial accreditation process of this new program, and have the primary responsibility of developing, teaching, and maintaining curriculum in areas of expertise as determined by the Program Director. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional in the field of Occupational Therapy to be a part of a newly established program that will produce qualified Occupational Therapists in the State of Oregon and surrounding states.

Requirements

  • Current OR state licensure as an occupational therapist or eligibility for OT licensure in Oregon.
  • A terminal degree in the appropriate area of specialization.
  • Interested in working at a university committed to quality, higher education in the health sciences.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a registered occupational therapist (OTR).
  • Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, accreditation processes, curriculum development, and program evaluation, with a strong record of supporting excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as academic advisor and student capstone mentor.
  • Teaching content related to research methodology and mentoring students on scholarly projects.
  • Engaging in collaborative scholarship and internal/external service activities which identifies and addresses medical and/or healthcare needs of the regional community.
  • Contributing to committee service within the program, department, university, and the profession.
  • Collaborating with the Doctoral Capstone Coordinator and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to optimize capstone and fieldwork components within courses.
  • Demonstrating ongoing scholarly achievement and research expertise through publication/presentation/grants/leadership and/or service-related activities.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
