About The Position

The School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, on-campus faculty position. This position is dedicated to undergraduate nursing education and offers an exciting opportunity to prepare the next generation of practice-ready, Christ-centered nurse leaders. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate nursing students through high-quality, in-person instruction in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings. Teaching responsibilities will include foundational nursing courses and clinical instruction in areas such as fundamental medical-surgical nursing. Beyond teaching, faculty members are expected to actively engage in student advising and mentoring, scholarly activities, service to the School of Nursing and the University, and professional practice. Requirements

  • Doctoral degree required (PhD or DNP); PhD in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse license or eligibility for Florida licensure before employment.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • One to two years of teaching experience in an accredited nursing program.
  • Recent clinical practice experience in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate nursing education.
  • Experience with simulation-based education, clinical evaluation, curriculum development, and instructional technologies.
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity, including publications, presentations, or grant activity.
  • Experience with competency-based education
  • Commitment to teaching excellence and service to the college, university, and community.
  • Demonstrated Christian commitment and the ability to integrate faith into coursework.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior collegiate-level teaching experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate nursing courses during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.
  • Integrate current evidence, technology, and best practices into teaching to foster students' clinical judgment, critical thinking, compassionate, patient-centered, and Christ-centered care.
  • Develop, administer, and evaluate student learning using a variety of assessment methods.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
  • Serve as an academic advisor to undergraduate nursing students in accordance with School of Nursing policies.
  • Meet regularly with assigned advisees to support academic success and professional development.
  • Approve student registration as appropriate.
  • Mentor students in scholarly inquiry, evidence-based practice, and professional growth.
  • Keep current with nursing practice, original research, and other scholarly activities such as publications, presentations, and participation in professional nursing organizations.
  • Serve on School of Nursing and University committees.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and program evaluation.
  • Provide professional service to the nursing profession and the broader community.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Support the mission and strategic initiatives of the School of Nursing and Palm Beach Atlantic University.
  • Maintain competence in nursing practice through ongoing clinical engagement and professional development.
  • Maintain an active, Florida Registered Nurse license (or eligible for Florida RN licensure).
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
