About The Position
Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking a Full-Time Tenure Track Nursing Faculty member for its Department of Nursing. This position is a 9-month academic year appointment. The faculty member will assume responsibility for delivering classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction, as well as advising, scholarship, and service requirements within the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) programs. The role may also involve teaching in an adjunct capacity in the RN-BSN program as needed.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Two years clinical experience as registered nurse
- Active Louisiana RN license or Compact License
- CPR certified with documented health compliance as required of nursing faculty
Nice To Haves
- Obtain Certified Nurse Educator credential within 3 years of hire
Responsibilities
- Teaching in ASN Program (Primary) or RN-BSN program (Adjunct)
- Incorporate student learning teaching/learning strategies in classroom and lab/clinical instruction.
- Participate in Department of Nursing and University Committees.
- Ensure student compliance with health requirements.
- Participate in student counseling and advising.
- Schedule office hours in compliance with University Policy.
- Evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical courses.
- Develop course schedules and syllabi in compliance with department and University policies.
