About The Position

Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, FL is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to serve as the Director of Advocacy Programs. We welcome applications from candidates at all career stages and particularly encourage experienced teachers and scholars, including candidates who currently hold tenure at another institution or whose records may support appointment with tenure. We actively seek candidates with experience teaching advanced doctrinal and experiential courses who can contribute to teaching, scholarship, and the strategic development of a nationally recognized advocacy program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 12-13 credits per academic year, with administrative course release for the Director role, teaching a maximum of 6 credits per year, including at least one skills-based advocacy course and one doctrinal course.
  • Maintain an active scholarly agenda and produce scholarship consistent with the law school’s tenure standards.
  • Have comprehensive responsibility for the Advocacy Program, including recruiting, training, and supervising adjunct faculty and coaches, and developing the advocacy curriculum.
  • Manage the program's budget and fundraising.
  • Oversee the law school's student advocacy organizations.
  • Direct marketing and outreach.
  • Organize onsite conferences and competitions.
  • Represent the law school at competitions and conferences nationwide.
