About The Position

The Assistant/Associate Professor Occupational Therapy (TT) position requires a terminal degree (OTD, PhD, EdD) from an accredited university with experience in curriculum development, research, and supervision of graduate projects. Candidates must hold initial certification by NBCOT as an OTR and be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT). The role involves teaching a minimum of 5 years in a doctoral-level occupational therapy program, focusing on curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, innovative pedagogical approaches, and maintaining a scholarship record for promotion and rank.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree (OTD, PhD, EdD) from an accredited university

  • Experience in supervision of graduate projects
  • Initial certification by NBCOT as an OTR
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California by the CBOT
  • Minimum 5 years teaching in a doctoral level occupational therapy program

  • Experience in innovative pedagogical approaches
  • Evidence of scholarship record needed for promotion and rank
  • Minimum of four years of experience in clinical practice
  • Experience in supervising Fieldwork Level II students

  • Experience with ACOTE accreditation standards
  • 10 years’ experience teaching entry-level occupational therapy content at master or doctoral level
  • Experience mentoring graduate student research or capstone projects
  • Demonstrated experience with simulation or innovative teaching modalities
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work
  • Working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process desirable
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed
  • Developing innovative curriculum and competency requirements
  • Knowledge of Sacramento medical community and established relationships with professional memberships
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards such as WASC, ACOTE and other accreditation standards preferred
  • Experience with LMS, AI, VR/AR
