The Department of Urban and Environmental Studies at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), a Carnegie-classified R2 institution, is seeking outstanding applicants for two tenure-line positions in urban studies. These positions emphasize a commitment to inclusive excellence, the education of the whole person, and the building of a just society. LMU is recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI), and a Black-Serving Institution (BSI). The successful candidates will embrace LMU's teacher-scholar model, which involves conducting research and creative work, teaching a diverse student body, mentoring students, participating in service, and promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging. The positions are tenure-line faculty appointments, with one candidate appointed at the Assistant Professor rank and the other at either Assistant or Associate Professor rank, depending on experience and qualifications. The start date for these positions is August 2027.
