Assistant/Associate Professor - Comparative Political Science
About The Position
The Department of Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami seeks a tenure-track/tenure-eligible faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning August 15, 2027. The successful candidate will conduct research in comparative politics; scholars working in any substantive area of comparative politics are welcome. The candidate will strengthen and expand the department's comparative politics curriculum and support existing instructional needs, including regular teaching of the introductory comparative politics course. The department is especially interested in candidates with strong methodological training who can contribute to research methods and data analysis offerings and, where appropriate, the University's Law and Politics minor. The appointee will maintain an active and visible research agenda, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring, and participate fully in the intellectual life of the department, College, and University. The role will help increase the College's research capacity, expand strengths in global and comparative political research, and build a nationally and internationally recognized area of excellence. Opportunities may include interdisciplinary collaboration across the College and University, including with the School of Law, as well as contribution to existing study abroad programs or development of new opportunities for student engagement abroad. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Political Science by the appointment start date.
