About The Position

The Department of Political Science in the University of Miami’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks a tenure-track/tenure-eligible faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning August 15, 2027. The successful candidate will focus their research on comparative politics; applications are welcome from scholars working in any substantive area within the field. The candidate will strengthen and expand the department’s comparative politics curriculum and support existing instructional needs, including routine teaching of the introductory comparative politics course. The position will help increase the College’s research capacity, expand strengths in global and comparative political research, and contribute to building a nationally and internationally recognized area of excellence. The University offers opportunities to leverage existing faculty networks and partnerships and to create new avenues for interdisciplinary collaboration and scholarly visibility. Potential collaborations include faculty in the School of Law and other University units. Candidates interested in international and experiential learning may contribute to existing study abroad programs and develop new opportunities for student engagement abroad. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Political Science by the appointment start date. Apply online through the University’s Careers Website. Applicants should combine a cover letter, CV, research statement, and teaching statement into one PDF and upload it under the CV/Resume link.
