About The Position

George Fox University's College of Education is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor for its Educational Doctorate (Ed.D.) program, beginning August 15, 2026. This position involves supporting students through coursework and dissertation work. The role primarily focuses on the Ed.D. program, with potential involvement in the Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) and Administrative Licensure programs. While the program is largely online, faculty participation is required for a mandatory July summer residency. Requirements

  • An EdD or PhD in education or a related field.
  • Experience in K-12 Administration as Principal or Central Office.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse student population.
  • Availability to teach in person, online, as well as virtually for synchronous delivery.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church.
  • Agreement to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses within the Educational Doctorate (Ed.D) program, with departmental needs including qualitative methodology, instructional technology, school improvement, or educational policy.
  • Advising doctoral candidates to ensure they meet competencies for timely dissertation completion.
  • Facilitating partnership work with schools and districts for research program opportunities.
  • Completing an ongoing research agenda for faculty advancement and tenure.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and customer service.
  • Acting as a Christian role model to students through actions, words, and lifestyle.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc., and working well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.
