About The Position

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Laboratory Medicine Program at the University Health Network (UHN) are seeking to recruit an Anatomic Pathologist at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor. The candidate is expected to have diagnostic and research training/expertise in Cardiothoracic and Autopsy Pathology. The expected start date is July 1, 2027 or mutually agreed upon. We are seeking an academic pathologist who will foster excellence in Cardiothoracic and Autopsy Pathology practice, teaching and research at the hospital. The successful candidate will join a team of Cardiothoracic and Autopsy pathologists and subspecialist pathologists at the University Health Network.

Requirements

  • medical degree
  • certification in Anatomical Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent
  • eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

Nice To Haves

  • Sub-specialty fellowship in Cardiothoracic and Autopsy Pathology is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • participating in general frozen sections and/or autopsy
  • participating in diagnostic service for UHN and its client facilities
  • after hours on-call
  • Participation and leadership in collaborative or independent research and publishing scholarly work is expected
  • The successful candidate must show evidence of excellent and innovative scholarship in teaching and education in undergraduate, post-graduate, fellowship, and continuing education.
