About The Position

Auburn University, College of Agriculture, Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology seeks exceptional applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Agricultural Insect Spatial and Community Ecology. This is a 9-month tenure-track position with 70% research and 30% instruction responsibilities. The focus is on understanding how insect populations and communities respond to environmental, landscape, and management factors in southern row crop agroecosystems. The successful candidate will lead a nationally recognized research program that advances hypothesis-driven, quantitative studies linking insect populations and communities to landscape-scale ecological processes, with a focus on insects in field and pasture cropping systems. The candidate is expected to foster interdisciplinary research, collaborate with Extension specialists, secure extramural funding, publish technical and referred articles, and address emerging challenges in agroecology. The instructional appointment will support the Entomology graduate and undergraduate curriculums, including co-instruction in graduate-level insect ecology and IPM courses, and an Economic Entomology course. Mentoring graduate students, contributing to their professional development, and serving on advisory committees are expected, as is service to the department, college, and university.
