The University of Florida’s College of Medicine is launching a new Master’s of Science program in Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical and Health Sciences (AIBHS). This new program aims to train the healthcare and biomedical sciences workforce to develop and implement trustworthy artificial intelligence technologies. AIBHS will equip students with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to leverage AI's potential in translational biomedical applications and clinical care, including diagnostics, therapeutics, personalized medicine, and healthcare management. Students will learn to design and implement various trustworthy AI architectures in domains such as generative AI, large language models, neural networks, and imaging, as well as to integrate various types of data to advance research and improve clinical decision making. AIBHS graduates will be uniquely positioned to accelerate translational biomedical research, precision medicine, health management, processes, and delivery, and to improve patient care. This is a 12-month tenure-tracked teaching and research position. Duties include teaching graduate courses in biomedical and health-related AI, such as Fundamentals of AI in Medicine and Clinical AI Design Studio courses, as well as graduate student mentoring. The successful candidate will also establish and maintain an energetic, independent research program utilizing AI in medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI and its applications in medicine or the biomedical sciences, demonstrated teaching expertise, and evidence of a developing publishing and research portfolio.
