Successful candidates will join a service with four ECC faculty members who are ACVECC Diplomates, four ECC residents, eight ECC specialty interns, a technician supervisor, 13 licensed veterinary technicians and technician assistants, and three patient service coordinators. The service plans to expand staffing and services to support parallel critical care and emergency services. Endoscopy, bronchoscopy, laparoscopy, and arthroscopy are also available. The service receives referrals from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, and Canada, and supports the surrounding community and nearly every small-animal service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Pullman, Washington. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a full-service referral and primary-care center with more than 20,000 patient visits per year. The joint mission of the hospital and department is to improve animal health and well-being through excellent medical care, training future veterinarians, and developing innovative ways to diagnose and treat disease. The hospital and department include more than 60 full-time faculty members and 170 staff and house officers. This is a 100% FTE, continuous career-track appointment and is overtime exempt. Rank and division of effort will be determined based on the candidate’s interests and qualifications. Individual placement depends on experience, education, skills, and abilities; successful candidates typically begin up to the midpoint of the applicable range. The position is eligible for work-visa sponsorship. Applicants must submit a cover letter stating their desired faculty rank and summarizing their qualifications and clinical, teaching, scholarly, outreach, and community-engagement interests and goals; a curriculum vitae; and contact information for three professional references.
