About The Position

The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) seeks to fill an open rank faculty position in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. This position can be continuous career track or permanent tenure track, depending on the preference and qualifications of the applicant. Candidates will have the opportunity to adjust their schedule to satisfy personal or professional needs outside their appointment, including external consultation services if desired. The successful applicant will provide diagnostic service for the VTH as well as clinical and didactic instruction of professional veterinary students and house officers. Opportunities for collaborative or independent research/scholarship will be available if interested. Expectations for scholarship/research will be greater for a successful tenure track applicant, appropriate to rank. The successful applicant will work in a collaborative environment alongside our many specialty clinicians as cases are interpreted and managed. The successful applicant will join one other board-certified faculty radiologist as well as a dedicated team of licensed veterinary technicians and technician assistants. Small animal ultrasound duties are shared between the Diagnostic Imaging and Small Animal Internal Medicine Services. The Diagnostic Imaging Service is further supported by a highly successful partnership with a private teleradiology service that provides clinical teaching of fourth-year DVM students and diagnostic interpretations for the VTH. Diagnostic imaging provides support to nearly every small animal and large animal service within the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) in Pullman, Washington. Our VTH is the leading referral center in the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest with over 20,000 patient visits per year, aspiring to be the country’s best academic veterinary hospital for patients, students, clients, colleagues, and community. The joint mission of the VTH and VCS is to improve the health and well-being of all animals through excellence in medical care, training future veterinarians, and finding innovative ways to diagnose and treat disease. Dedicated to this vision and mission are more than 60 full-time faculty members and 170 staff and house officers. The WSU CVM is organized into five departments/schools, including VCS, Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology (VMP), Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience (IPN), the School of Molecular Biosciences (SMB), and the Paul G. Allen School for Global Health, each dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service (http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu).
