About The Position

The Assistant or Associate Buyer partners closely with the Buyer to support product assortment planning, vendor communication, and performance analysis. This role begins to learn product cycles on different categories while contributing to strategic merchandising decisions.

Exceptional attention to detail in inventory management and reporting.
Ability to analyze market trends and sales data to make informed decisions.
Strong team player with the ability to work across departments.
Flexibility to support various roles, including sales, inventory, and events.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with vendors and team members effectively.
Proficient in POS systems.
Proficient in MAC Operating Systems, iOS devices, Microsoft Office, and Google Applications.
1-3 years of buying experience in luxury retail.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and market trends to identify opportunities and support buying decisions
Support category strategies by building and maintaining assortments aligned with business goals, driving sales, and profitability
Assists in maintaining inventory levels and a curated product assortments that aligns with Hive's Brand
Manages vendor communication, including order placement, follow-ups, and vendor onboarding
Assists with purchase orders from start to finish and tracks delivery timelines to ensure deadlines are met
Prepare reports and deliver insights for buying meetings and seasonal reviews to support informed decision making
Identify opportunities for reorders, markdowns, aged inventory and RTVs
Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments by shifting priorities based on business needs.
Required to work 1 Saturday a month in Season
