About The Position

Positioned in the heart of the Boulder/Broomfield corridor—one of Colorado’s most dynamic and high-demand markets—this role offers a unique opportunity to drive group and catering revenue in a business mix fueled by corporate headquarters, CU Boulder, and year-round event demand. We are seeking a driven and motivated Area Assistant Director of Sales to take ownership of our group, meetings, and catering segments across a portfolio of high-performing hotels. This is a hands-on, results-focused role designed for a strong seller ready to elevate their impact. You will have full accountability for driving group and catering revenue while gaining valuable exposure to broader sales disciplines, including Business Transient, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Owner Engagement. Working closely with the Area Director of Sales, you will receive direct mentorship and development to prepare you for future leadership opportunities within hotel sales. Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ year of hotel sales experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience in group, meetings, and/or catering sales strongly preferred
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, or IHG brands preferred
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with sales systems
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive all aspects of group, meetings, and catering business—from prospecting through execution—with a focus on maximizing occupancy and revenue.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, property tours, and networking to build strong client relationships.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure a seamless experience from inquiry to event completion.
  • Actively manage account production and identify new business opportunities.
  • Monitor local market trends and competitive activity to position the hotels effectively.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline, manage leads, and consistently convert opportunities to meet or exceed revenue goals in assigned segments.
  • Partner closely with the Area Director of Sales for mentorship and exposure to broader sales functions, including business transient strategy, marketing initiatives, revenue management, and ownership communication.
