About The Position

Reporting to the Animal Shelter Operations Manager, the Assistant Animal Shelter Manager is responsible for the care of animals at the Conroe Animal Shelter and the management of all staff on location. The position is responsible for day-to-day operations and adoption program.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to consistently perform multiple diverse tasks simultaneously
Detail oriented
Work well under pressure
Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's license or higher and insurable under our auto policy
Must be able to communicate with the public in a professional manner at all times
Must be able to read and write
Basic math skills are required
Must be able to work around animals for extended periods of time
Must be able to work emergency and on-call hours
Patient, courteous, and work well and efficient under stressful conditions
Ability to work unscheduled hours, including long shifts, late hours, certain holidays
Assigned schedule may regularly include either a Saturday and/or Sunday
Ability to drive, stand, bend, squat, walk and talk for up to eight-ten hours a day
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Must pass background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening as a condition of employment
A motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam may also be required
Must pass FBI Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprint-based criminal background check and maintain CJIS eligibility
