About The Position

Supports actuarial services through research, analysis, and reporting to evaluate the profitability and financial performance of existing and new lines of business. This full-time position is onsite in a typical office environment at 4101 Percival Rd., Columbia, South Carolina, and works Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field.
Successful completion of one Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society exam.
Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Analytical or critical-thinking skills.
Knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts and ability to use complex mathematical calculations.
Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
Good judgment.
Microsoft Office skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Assist with statistical and reporting functions, regulatory reporting, data testing, and research.
Prepare and update actuarial models and reconcile them with financial statements.
Perform basic analysis of competing programs’ rates and rating structures to support competitive pricing decisions across various lines of business.
Support studies and analyses evaluating future contingent events.
Maintain and enhance financial reporting databases.
