About The Position

CW is seeking a dedicated and experienced DFAC Assistant Manager to support the daily food service operations on a military installation. In this role, you’ll of a Dining Facility (DFAC) assisting with food service operations, supervising team members, & assist in maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards. Assist with the day-to-day management of dining facility operations. Supervise, train, and support food service staff to ensure quality performance and customer service. Monitor food preparation, serving, and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with established standards. Support staffing, scheduling, and labor management activities. Assist with inventory control, ordering, receiving, and storage of food and supplies. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, OSHA, and applicable government regulations. Conduct routine inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness. Address customer concerns and resolve issues professionally and efficiently. Assist with maintaining operational records, reports, and documentation. Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Coordinate with management to ensure successful execution of dining facility operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in food service, dining facility, cafeteria, military DFAC, hospitality, or institutional food operations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of working in a team lead or similar role.
  • Knowledge of food service operations, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory/reporting systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a military dining facility (DFAC) or large-volume food service operation.
  • Experience with inventory management, scheduling, and workforce management systems.
  • Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
