About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft while supporting a positive customer shopping experience. The officer helps maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues by greeting and assisting customers, monitoring store traffic, observing for suspicious activity, and communicating concerns to Asset Protection/Security. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to help officers develop the knowledge and tools needed for the role and grow in responsibility. Officers are expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism while performing their duties.

Requirements

• No education or experience is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods; occasional reaching above eye level, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; and frequently lifting or moving up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.
• Visually monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store.
• Deter theft through visual observation.
• Maintain a safe business environment.
• Communicate suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security.
