About The Position

This role drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, and cleanliness. It involves overseeing stocking, merchandise displays, and securing high-shrink merchandise. The position leads and develops teams through teaching, training, and active listening, providing feedback and guidance on store operations, business initiatives, and merchandising. It also models exceptional customer service, manages customer issues, and develops action plans for improvement. The role supervises and develops hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and setting clear expectations. It controls unexplained merchandise loss and improves profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals, measuring adherence to loss prevention policies, and conducting operational and inventory reviews. The coach gathers data, audits results, monitors deficiency trends, and works with managers and associates to implement corrections. They train managers and associates on operational controls and processes across multiple stores. The role detects, deters, investigates, and resolves violations of company policies and criminal activities, gathering evidence, taking statements, writing reports, and providing court testimony. It also monitors safety and risk controls, ensuring an effective safety program, supervising safety team members, identifying accident trends, and providing training on accident prevention. The position manages facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures, identifying gaps and developing/delivering training as needed. It oversees claims and receiving operations, ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed for processing claims (e.g., damaged, defective, returned, liquidated items) and merchandise deliveries. The role coordinates and completes job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders, supporting initiatives, identifying goals, building accountability, and demonstrating adaptability. Finally, it ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the company's mission, values, and ethics by implementing action plans and promoting continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 years of college.
  • Option 2: 1 year’s experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 3: 1 year’s experience in one of the following areas: accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi department environment.
  • Option 4: 2 years’ experience in asset protection or related area.
  • Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection (e.g., minimum age, specialized training, certification and/or licensing).
  • If applicable, acquisition of a current, state issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • If applicable, successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

  • Drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, cleanliness, stocking, rotation, and display setup.
  • Secures fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
  • Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, actively listening, providing feedback, and communicating business objectives.

  • Identifies improvement opportunities and works with managers and associates to determine corrections needed for inventory controls.
  • Trains managers and associates on operational controls and processes in multiple stores.
