About The Position

The Asset Protection Operations Coach is responsible for driving sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, and cleanliness. They will oversee stocking, rotation, product displays, and secure high-shrink merchandise. This role involves leading and developing teams through teaching, training, and active listening, as well as providing feedback and guidance on store operations, business initiatives, and merchandising. The Coach will model exceptional customer service, manage customer issues, and develop action plans for improvement. They will also provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, and mentoring. A key aspect of the role is controlling unexplained merchandise loss and improving profitability by setting goals, measuring adherence to loss prevention policies, and conducting operational reviews. The Coach will investigate and resolve violations of company policies and criminal activities, gather evidence, write reports, and provide testimony. They will also monitor safety and risk controls, develop accident prevention strategies, and manage facility-level training for asset protection, safety, and claims/receiving procedures. This includes ensuring proper claims processing and merchandise delivery, and coordinating job-related activities and assignments. The Coach must ensure compliance with company policies, values, and ethics, and promote a culture of belonging and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 years of college.
  • Option 2: 1 year’s experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 3: 1 year’s experience in one of the following areas: accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi department environment.
  • Option 4: 2 years’ experience in asset protection or related area.
  • Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection (e.g., minimum age, specialized training, certification, licensing).
  • If applicable, acquisition of a current, state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • If applicable, successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

  • Ensures proper claims processing and timely processing of merchandise deliveries.
  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities and assignments.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
