Asset Protection Officer/ EMT for STARR (US8) Manufacturing Facility. Purpose: Support the business unit in achieving objectives as specified by the plant, while ensuring safety and quality through being an engaged team member. Requirements

  • Must attain Incident Command & Interior Structural Firefighter, South Carolina First Responder, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Certifications, and have HAZMAT training.
  • Complete SCFA 1152 course.
  • Computer skills (data entry, e-mail, word, excel, etc.)
  • Environmental exposure: Chemicals, Heat, Cold, Outside Work Confined Space Hot Work Respirator Required
  • Distinguish Between Colors
  • Ability to meet medical requirements for MET Membership, and be able to meet lifting requirements (Injured Employee, Fire Response Equipment, Chemical Spill Response Materials, Etc.)
  • Ability to maintain a proper seal for a SCBA Mask.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • MUST have EMT Certification

Responsibilities

  • Respond to Plant Emergencies, including providing care to injured employees, chemical spill cleanup, security threats or disturbances, natural disasters, and fires.
  • Operating & Maintaining Fire Systems (fire sprinkler system, pumps, hoses, DIVs & PIVs).
  • Traffic Control, Plant Patrol, Vehicle & Foot Patrol, Investigations, & Mail.
  • Firefighting which includes MET Leader for Crew.
  • Reception and Registration of Plant Visitors Including Switchboard Operations.
