As an Asset Protection Detective, you will help protect company assets, reduce shortage, and support a safe, customer-focused shopping environment. Using surveillance, investigative tools, and strong partnerships with store teams and law enforcement, you will identify and respond to theft, recover merchandise, and help protect customers, colleagues, and the business. This role helps reduce loss while maintaining a safe and welcoming store environment through training, observation, investigation, and de-escalation. It involves using surveillance and reporting systems, supporting investigations, preparing documentation and evidence, training colleagues on asset-protection protocols, and partnering with store teams and law enforcement. The role also includes responding to alarm calls, supporting special assignments, facilitating first aid when needed, and testifying in court as needed. The position requires prolonged standing and walking, occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, the ability to apprehend shoplifters, and the ability to spend long periods in enclosed surveillance areas. Employees frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds. For New York jobs, a current New York State Security Guard License is required. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week, and all schedules include weekend shifts; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
