About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for supporting facility security, employee health and safety, and operational excellence. This role involves monitoring security systems, implementing safety guidelines, collaborating with stakeholders, analyzing data, and contributing to process improvements. The associate will also play a role in environmental protection and ensuring compliance with company policies and values. This position is based in a distribution or fulfillment center.

Requirements

• 6 months experience as a Walmart associate OR 1 year's work experience or coursework in criminal justice, loss prevention/asset protection, safety, compliance, or security-related field (for example, Military, Public Safety, Compliance, Criminal Justice).

Responsibilities

• Supports facility security staff and monitors access control equipment.
• Implements employee health and safety guidelines, including OSHA compliance and emergency evacuation plans.
• Conducts compliance, safety, and food safety audits and reviews.
• Acts as an associate interface for workers' compensation issues, analyzing and reporting on claims.
• Supports process updates and changes, and solves simple business issues.
• Gathers and interprets data in a digital environment, analyzes reports, and checks data quality across systems.
• Suggests tasks that can be automated using technology.
• Supports training initiatives and explains relevant processes and procedures to contractors.
• Organizes thoughts and communicates credibly and concisely, presenting to and influencing team members and business partners.
• Utilizes data and fact-based information to articulate results and provide recommendations.
• Actively listens, seeks and provides constructive feedback, and offers ideas for process improvement.
• Supports the implementation of process improvement strategies and identifies gaps in processes.
• Demonstrates awareness of environmental regulations and implements Walmart's environmental policies.
• Explains operational functions and key roles of assigned departments.
