The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for protecting Michaels' assets by maintaining safety policies and procedures, as well as security. This role controls inbound and outbound trailer and automobile traffic, ensuring proper documentation and load bar/strap installation. The associate also manages card access and badge systems, building key control, and equipment key systems. They perform "end of shift" bag checks, investigate incidents and accidents, and conduct various safety and security audits. The position requires maintaining department code of conduct and confidentiality, supporting the "After Hours" program for delivery issues, and responding to emergencies. The associate monitors fire, intrusion, and access control systems, as well as the CCTV system and cameras. They also maintain safety awareness programs, resolve safety concerns, report unsafe conditions, and assist in safety orientations for new team members. Other duties may be assigned by the LP Manager or LP Operations Coordinator.
