The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for observing activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity, collecting investigative evidence utilizing CCTV and observations from the sales floor. This role follows AP Directives and Company policy when making apprehensions and executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft, properly documenting all stages. The associate conducts external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft, reports suspected fraud and infractions of company policy, and creates and manages records for reporting apprehension, witness statements, evidence retention, and merchandise disposition. Additionally, the associate may collect evidence and monitor associate activity for internal investigations or serve as an interview witness, proactively identifies potential theft and fraud, investigates suspicious behavior, attends court hearings as required, and analyzes intelligence on individuals and booster groups involved in theft. The role also supports a safety culture by aiding store leadership in communicating shrinkage and safety topics, identifying and correcting potential hazards, providing emergency or critical incident response, assisting with incident investigations, and coaching associates on maintaining safe work areas. The Asset Protection Associate consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including service, productivity, and attendance.
