About The Position

The City of Bremerton is seeking an Asset Management Technician to provide support with the City’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) System. This role involves offering technical assistance to EAM users across the city, conducting data analysis, and performing system maintenance. The position requires timely, accurate, and professional execution of duties, effective management of priorities, initiative in completing additional work, and compliance with City policies, labor agreements, and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent; OR possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to: A High School Diploma or GED; and Two (2) years of experience supporting, administering, maintaining, analyzing, or coordinating data, asset management systems, GIS systems, enterprise software applications, business processes, or related technical programs.
  • Knowledge of: Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of: Data management, system integration, reporting, and analytics principles.
  • Knowledge of: Microsoft Office applications, databases, and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including ArcGIS platforms.
  • Knowledge of: Municipal operations, asset management principles, and performance measurement methodologies.
  • Skill in: Data analysis, quality assurance, and data management.
  • Skill in: Report development, dashboard creation, and data visualization.
  • Skill in: Process improvement and workflow development.
  • Skill in: Troubleshooting technical issues and evaluating system solutions.
  • Skill in: Organizing and prioritizing multiple projects and assignments.
  • Skill in: Providing responsive customer service and technical support.
  • Ability to: Analyze technical and operational issues and develop effective solutions using sound judgment and critical thinking.

  • A valid driver's license is required and/or must be obtained by the date of appointment or by a date established by the City.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in GIS, Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Data Analytics, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), GIS platforms, or other enterprise software applications.
  • Experience working in a municipal, utility, public works, or government environment.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, workflows, system integrations, or process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of the City's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Maintain system data integrity through data analysis, quality control reviews, system audits, and routine data maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support and user assistance for EAM system users, including troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions.
  • Assist with user training and the development of documentation, procedures, and best practices related to EAM system use.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain business processes, workflows, and automated solutions that improve operational efficiency, data collection, and asset management practices.
  • Coordinate with field staff, supervisors, and other departments to develop work plans, performance metrics, cost-tracking measures, and reporting tools to support operational planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
  • Test, evaluate, and assist with the implementation of new system modules, applications, integrations, and workflow enhancements.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, charts, and other analytical tools utilizing EAM system data to support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Support and maintain integration between the City's EAM system and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including coordination with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments.
  • Perform GIS-related maintenance, data analysis, quality assurance, and data management activities as assigned.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to asset management, data management, and GIS to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Benefits

  • Longevity pay (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years).
  • 3.8% cost of living increase has been approved for 2027.
  • Position may be eligible for a hybrid or flexible work schedule, subject to management approval.
