About The Position

STGi is seeking a reliable and skilled Asset Management Specialist (AMS) for a seasonal position at Yellowstone National Park for the 2026 season. The AMS will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of physical assets, including procurement, maintenance, tracking, and disposal, to maximize value and ensure compliance. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, dependable, and possess a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assets from acquisition to disposal, including procurement, maintenance scheduling, and, if necessary, disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and licensing agreements.
  • Prepare reports on asset utilization, depreciation, and financial status.
  • Perform physical inventory audits and analyze data to optimize asset performance, reduce costs, and identify risks.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized asset management database.
  • Catalog all major and minor appliances (e.g., water heaters, refrigerators, washers/dryers, microwaves, etc.).
  • Record serial numbers, model numbers, manufacturer information, and asset tags.
  • Track acquisition date, purchase cost, funding source, and assigned location.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed records of Housing unit ownership (company-owned, leased, government-owned, third-party), lease agreements and terms, monthly rent rates and escalation schedules, utility responsibility allocations.
  • Track occupancy status and assignment history.
  • Maintain property condition reports and inspection documentation.
  • Support capital improvement planning for housing units.
  • Track warranty information including coverage period, service provider details, claims history.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, record repair history and service costs.
  • Track depreciation schedules for financial reporting, document end-of-life projections and replacement planning.
  • Catalog furniture in each housing unit and clinic location.
  • Maintain inventory of household goods including (eg. bedding and linens, Kitchenware, small appliances, general household items).
  • Track replacement cycles and condition assessments.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly asset reports.
  • Identify trends in repair costs and replacement needs.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures and lifecycle optimization strategies.
  • Establish internal controls to reduce loss, damage, or misappropriation.
  • Develop asset tagging and labeling standards.
  • Maintain loss/damage reporting procedures.
  • Track insurance coverage and claims related to assets.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits and spot checks.
  • Develop SOPs for asset acquisition, transfer, and disposal.
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to record transactions and manage data.
  • Attend training on IT systems, both initially and with updates; asks for help when needed.
  • Complete mandatory IT training by specified deadlines.
  • Respond to calls regarding services needed by staff or management.
