About The Position

The Township of Springwater is recruiting for one (1) existing temporary, full-time position of Asset Management Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Manager, Capital Infrastructure Delivery. The Asset Management Coordinator will be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders in leading the development and ongoing maintenance of the Township’s corporate asset management program. This role is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of the centralized asset register and all data related to the Township’s infrastructure. It will also identify efficiencies and improvements in existing asset management systems and processes to optimize the Township’s infrastructure and investment priorities. The Asset Management Coordinator will provide data analytics and reporting for all Township departments and will support Finance with the long-term financial plan for the municipality.

Requirements

  • Completion of a 3-year college program in civil engineering technology (or equivalent) with a focus on asset management.
  • Professional designation or eligibility for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Certified Technologist (C.Tech) registered through OACETT.
  • Completion of the Institute of Asset Management Certificate program or equivalent asset management certificate program.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive asset management experience is required.
  • Experience leading consultant assignments.
  • Understanding of asset management principles and relevant legislation.
  • Proficient in maintaining and updating centralized asset registers and analyzing complex data sets.
  • Strong project management skills in planning, executing, monitoring and reporting.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, Citywide software, MS Project, and GIS software.
  • Ability to prepare reports, presentations and technical documents.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s license and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Willingness to undergo a Police Information Check satisfactory to the Township.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications in asset management or related fields and/or a Certified Asset Management Professional registered through PEMAC.
  • Experience within a municipal environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of municipal accounting procedures and financial planning and the ability to prepare and manage budgets and identify funding opportunities is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of the Township’s corporate asset management program, including compliance with all regulatory asset management requirements.
  • Build, maintain and ensure the accuracy of the centralized asset register and all related data.
  • Prepare, review and administer RFTs/RFPs for various asset condition assessment programs and asset management initiatives.
  • Manage the Township’s existing computerized maintenance management and optimize processes to improve infrastructure and investment priorities.
  • Provide data analytics and reporting for all Township departments.
  • Support the Township’s Finance Department with long-term financial planning for municipal assets.
  • Develop asset management policies and define asset management procedures for the acquisition and decommissioning of assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.
