This position reports to the Vice President of Asset Management. Assist the VP with managing BRC’s real estate portfolio, including compliance, lease management, capital work budgeting and vendor procurement. Work effectively and collaboratively within internal teams and between departments.

Requirements

  • Ability to create comprehensive plans and systems for project scope, task allocation, and communication.
  • Ability to create project timeline with milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Ability to create detailed implementation plans.
  • Ability to manage and adapt to unexpected changes or issues.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments including but not limited to Facilities, Real Estate Development, Programs and Finance.
  • Detail-oriented organization and documentation skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Concise and clear writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project or equivalent.
  • Entry level 0 – 3 years’ experience in real estate, building management or administrative property management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration or equivalent background and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review floor plans and assess building conditions through regular property visits and coordination with Facilities staff.
  • Create and maintain inventory and document expenditures related to major building systems to facilitate planned maintenance.
  • Assess buildings portfolio and make recommendations on work required at each property.
  • Collaborate with Facilities staff to further develop BRC’s existing work order system to enable planned and preventive maintenance efforts.
  • Track and monitor progress on capital projects and other initiatives as required.
  • Participate in procurement for various projects and sustainability initiatives and ensure that the vendors’ work is performed to appropriate specifications and quality.
  • Analyze and review ownership terms and lease details for buildings in the real estate portfolio.
  • Track and manage portfolio compliance with regulatory and syndicator requirements including but not limited to NYC Local Laws related to buildings and sustainability.
  • Leverage AI for data analysis and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
