About The Position

This role involves designing and completing a variety of tasks and projects within the Trust Department, ensuring they align with departmental goals, objectives, and policies. The individual will perform all tasks of a Specialist II and Specialist III, including preparing outgoing wires for trade settlement, processing checks, and conducting research on assets in litigation, receivership, or bankruptcy. The position requires extensive written and verbal communication to ensure project completion and implementation, and the provision of in-house expertise for various projects. Specific duties include real estate experience for deeds, notes, note payoffs, modifications, and managing real estate expenses, tax payments, and HOA fees. The Asset Maintenance Lead acts as a liaison between Trust Management Services and CTC for trading and asset transfers, coordinating all incoming and outgoing asset transfers and demonstrating expertise in how assets are booked, including tax lot and cost basis. The role also assists with tax form preparation, payment of taxes due, and scheduling estimated tax payments. Compliance with all bank regulations is essential, requiring continuous knowledge updates and adherence to Bank policies and procedures, including those related to Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and Bank Security. The individual may also coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as a subject matter expert, actively fostering the Columbia corporate culture. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent financial services experience.
  • Minimum 5 years financial services experience.
  • Previous experience training junior team members.
  • Previous experience processing in a securities processing environment.
  • Thorough understanding of departmental professional/business goals and how they contribute to the bank’s business objective.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated effective time/project management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to accomplish work assignments under minimal supervision and tight deadlines.
  • Well-developed analytical and critical reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and completes a variety of tasks and projects related to the Trust Department.
  • Implements projects and work assignments according to departmental goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Processes all tasks of the Specialist II and Specialist III.
  • Prepares outgoing wires for trade settlement.
  • Performs check processing for transactions.
  • Conducts research on assets in litigation, receivership or bankruptcy.
  • Performs a variety of written and verbal communications to ensure satisfactory completion or implementation of projects.
  • Provides in-house expertise relation to various projects.
  • Handles Real Estate experience for Deeds, notes, note pay offs, modifications.
  • Manages Real Estate expenses, tax payments, HOA fees.
  • Acts as liaison between Trust Management Services and CTC on trading and asset transfers.
  • Coordinates all incoming and outgoing asset transfers and is expert in how assets are booked to the system including tax lot and cost basis.
  • Assists with tax form preparation and the payment of taxes due and scheduling and payment of estimated tax payments.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities.
  • Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
